CNA News, Taipei, April 28. The Ministry of Education is calling for participants for the 5th 'Healthy Eating Junior Broadcaster' contest. Students are encouraged to design nutritionally balanced school lunch menus and introduce nutrition and diet knowledge through news broadcasting and video creation.
The Ministry announced today that registration will be open from May 4 to June 29 for elementary, middle, and high school students. The competition features five major themes: 'Sustainable Low-Carbon Food Practices' and 'Daily School Lunch Menu Design' focus on environmental awareness and nutritional planning; 'Self-Awareness of Eating Behavior' and 'Fact-Checking Dietary Misinformation' emphasize health management and media literacy. A new theme this year, 'My Healthy Eating Vlog,' allows students to record daily meals and family scenes to explore the cultural and emotional meanings behind the dining table.
Winners in each category will receive certificates and gift vouchers worth up to NT$8,000. The Ministry hopes the contest will deepen students' understanding of dietary education and help them internalize healthy eating habits. More information is available on the activity website.
