Mary, the Senior Black Bear at Shoushan Zoo, Passes Away Peacefully in Her Sleep

Shoushan Zoo stated today that Mary, the senior black bear, passed away peacefully in her sleep yesterday morning. Estimated to be over 30 years old, Mary had been living at the zoo since 2020. Known for her relaxed and elegant pace, she comforted countless visitors. Keepers recalled Mary as being very sensitive, able to distinguish familiar voices and scents. The zoo expressed gratitude to the keepers and veterinarians who provided medical care until her final days. Recently, several elderly stars like Ali and Chao-hai have also passed away, serving as reminders of the importance of life education.
