(Central News Agency, Kaohsiung, 28th, by reporter Chang Yi-lien) A man surnamed Zeng was involved with 8 minors in seeking revenge at a temple in Kaohsiung, and also drove a person to a mountainous area for abuse. After trial by the Qiaotou District Court, he was sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in prison for the crime of jointly carrying weapons with three or more people to abuse and deprive the victim of their freedom of movement. The verdict can be appealed.
The Qiaotou District Court's judgment stated that Mr. Zeng knew that the 8 minors had a grudge against the victim. He allegedly drove one of the minors to a temple in Kaohsiung, where the minor assaulted the victim. Afterwards, the victim was taken to a remote mountainous area, where the minors subjected the victim to beating, abuse, threats, and intimidation, illegally depriving the victim of their freedom of movement and causing severe injuries.
After deliberation, the judge noted that Mr. Zeng admitted his crime during the investigation, and considering his criminal methods, role in the division of labor, and failure to reach a settlement with the victim or obtain forgiveness, he was sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in prison for the crime of jointly carrying weapons with three or more people to abuse and deprive the victim of their freedom of movement. The verdict can be appealed. (Edited by Chang Ya-ching) 1150428
