The Hsinchu County Government released news information today stating that to promote the inheritance and development of Hakka language and culture overseas, the county has launched the 'Overseas Hakka Language Teaching Promotion Project.' This project aims to extend Hakka language learning to overseas regions through teaching courses and cultural exchange activities, promoting the everyday use of the Hakka language.

The county government stated that the first stop of this plan is in cooperation with the Queensland Hakka Association. Hakka language teaching courses will be opened at the local Taiwan center in Brisbane, Australia. The courses include basic Hakka conversation, daily applications, and introductions to Hakka culture, combined with Hakka songs and cultural experience exchange activities to strengthen students' practical language application skills.

The county government said that this project is also a response to the practical demand for Hakka language teaching from overseas Hakka associations. It hopes to improve the Hakka language proficiency of overseas children through promotion and also strengthen the connection between Taiwan and the global Hakka community, allowing Hakka culture to continue its heritage and development internationally.

The county government pointed out that Hakka 'Sin-Chuan' teachers with rich teaching experience and excellent performance will be selected to teach to ensure teaching quality. Subsequent expansion will be evaluated based on the effectiveness of implementation to enhance the international promotion energy of Hsinchu County's Hakka language.
