Bikash Koley, Google's Vice President of Global Infrastructure, stated at the groundbreaking ceremony: "Google's greatest commitment to India's digital future reached its first concrete milestone today."

He further added that this project "represents a $15 billion blueprint to realize a full-stack AI ecosystem"; and the core of the plan is a "GW-scale data center campus, specifically built for the massive computing demands of the AI era, used to power services like Gemini and Google Search."

Koley also pointed out that by establishing Vizag as an international submarine cable gateway, in addition to existing landing points in Mumbai and Chennai, Google will significantly increase risk diversification, "enhance the resilience of India's digital backbone, improve economic security," and further connect India with the rest of the world.
