Central News Agency (CNA) reporter Wu Xinyun, Taipei, 28th - Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Fo Guang Shan announced today that it will commence an alms-gathering pilgrimage on May 3rd. On May 5th, 108 monks who have received the Three Platforms of Precepts will set off from Longshan Temple in Wanhua, Taipei, and walk to the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple, spreading the compassion and hope of Humanistic Buddhism.

Fo Guang Shan was founded on May 16, 1967. This year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Fo Guang Shan's founding, the "Fo Guang Shan 2026 International Ten Thousand Buddhas Three Platforms of Precepts" will be held. Precept-takers will strictly adhere to Buddhist rituals and the transmission of the Dharma lineage, and will begin their alms-gathering practice on May 3rd.

Fo Guang Shan stated in a press release that at 8:30 AM on May 5th, 108 monks who have received the Three Platforms of Precepts will depart from Wanhua Longshan Temple to begin a solemn and special alms-gathering procession. Along the way, they will pass through Guangzhou Street, Guiyang Street, Kangding Road, Changsha Street Section 2, Chengdu Road, Hankou Street, and Chongqing South Road Section 1, eventually arriving at the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple.

Fo Guang Shan welcomes relatives, friends, and neighbors to come and make offerings and receive blessings, and also invites residents along the route to participate in this grand event, planting seeds of merit and forming good affinities together. (Editor: Guan Zhongwei)
