Keliber, Europe's first integrated lithium production chain project in Finland, has commenced operations. It will produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide for EVs and smartphones. The project, valued at 783 million euros, covers 500 square km. CEO Hannu Hautala stated it is the first to have a complete chain within a 43km radius. It is expected to be fully operational within two years, reducing dependence on imports from Asia and Australia.
