The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) announced on the 28th the launch of the 2026 'Meide Youth Education Plan' (Phase 3). This initiative is funded by a portion of the election subsidies donated by President Lai Ching-te, aiming to encourage young staff within the party to pursue self-improvement, skill enhancement, or Master's and PhD programs at home and abroad.
Eligical applicants must be under 40 years old, hold DPP membership, and have a cumulative total of at least two years of political work experience within the party. The program is divided into two categories: 'Category A: Short-term Professional Training Award' will provide grants to 70 individuals for domestic/online courses or overseas study trips. 'Category B: Degree Program Award' will support 23 individuals, including 10 domestic Master's students, 2 domestic PhD students, 10 overseas Master's students, and 1 overseas PhD student.
The focus areas align with the three pillars of 'Democracy, Peace, and Prosperity,' as well as fields contributing to party innovation such as immigrant affairs, Hakka and Indigenous cultures, and gender equality. The deadline for applications is June 1, 2026, with results to be announced in early July.
