36-Year-Old Man Indicted for Robbery After Strangling Woman in Hospital

Due to a lack of money, he suddenly strangled a woman named Chen inside the hospital, making it difficult for her to breathe, and took her bag that had dropped to the floor. He was surrounded and stopped by bystanders, and arrested when the police arrived. The Chiayi District Prosecutors Office has concluded the investigation and indicted him on robbery charges. According to the indictment, the 36-year-old Wang used his physical advantage on the afternoon of the 17th in a hospital on Beigang Road, Chiayi City. While Chen was collecting photos from a machine, Wang strangled her, causing her to lose consciousness and drop her bag, which he then took. Bystanders witnessed the attack and intervened immediately. Police arrived and took Wang to the station, where he confessed to the crime and stated he had a mental disability certificate. Police stated Wang, a resident of Changhua County, was in Chiayi for fun but was taken to the hospital after a fall. The victim suffered neck contusions.
