Winbond, Etron Default on Settlement on Same Day, Totaling Over NT$129 Million

(Central News Agency reporter Ho Hsiu-ling, Taipei, 27th) The Taipei Exchange (OTC) announced today that gallium arsenide manufacturer Winbond (3105) and stock king Etron (3550) both experienced settlement defaults on the same day. Winbond's amount was approximately NT$96.69 million, and Etron's was about NT$32.83 million, totaling over NT$129 million in a single day.

Today, Winbond's defaults were reported by brokers including Shin Kong Securities Taoyuan Branch, Cathay Securities Dunnan Branch, Capital Securities Yonghe Branch, E.SUN Securities Luodong Branch, and E.SUN Securities Tianmu Branch. Etron's default was reported by E.SUN Securities Jingmei Branch.

Observing recent settlement default situations in the OTC market, cases have increased since late April this year. Among them, Kingboard (6155) had the largest amount, accumulating over NT$134 million.

According to Taiwan's "T+2" settlement system, investors must complete settlement on the second trading day after the transaction. Related default situations are usually disclosed at this point.

The OTC statistics show that settlement default cases this year include Universal Scientific Industrial (6271) with a default amount of NT$10.72 million on January 15; United Microelectronics (3034) with NT$68.89 million on April 14; Kingboard (6155) with a settlement default amount of NT$110 million on April 21; and brokers reported Kingboard (6155) with a default amount of NT$23.43 million on April 22.
