Taiwanese AI Supply Chain Firms Recruit in Silicon Valley; Strong Demand for Semi & Mfg Pros

(San Francisco, 26th, Central News Agency) The Taiwan Next Foundation hosted a recruitment fair in Silicon Valley this weekend, bringing together Taiwan's AI supply chain giants to attract talent. This highlights the strong demand for semiconductor and manufacturing professionals as Taiwanese firms establish operations in the US, reflecting a restructuring of tech talent under the AI wave. Amid ongoing layoffs in Silicon Valley, the fair attracted over a thousand attendees. Tech giants including Foxconn, Wistron, Ambarella, Lite-On, Phison, MediaTek, UMC, Delta, ASE, and Cooler Master offered numerous job openings. Danielle Gride from Foxconn noted that the company has openings nationwide for electronic, manufacturing, and mechanical engineers. Michelle Chan from Phison mentioned they are expanding in the US to build an AI ecosystem. Experts noted that while Taiwan seeks software and IC design talent, the focus in the US is on professionals for expanded manufacturing plants. Organizations like Taiwan Next Foundation aim to help professionals find opportunities or transition amid industry restructuring. Interestingly, firms like Foxconn and Ambarella mentioned they do not over-rely on AI for screening, preferring direct interaction to assess professional responses without the aid of AI tools.
