This initiative not only enriches marine fishery resources but also instills the concept of marine sustainability from a young age.
The Huxi Township Office held the "Little Fry Return to the Sea: Marine Sustainability and Fish Food Education" event today, releasing seedlings in the waters around Baikeng Beach. Huxi Township Mayor Chen Chen-chung and nearly 100 parent-child pairs completed the release with the assistance of Ko Chih-hung, director of the Penghu Aquaculture Seedling Center. Marine education explanations were also provided on-site, which the children found novel and interesting.

After evaluating the local environment and the scale of the intertidal zone, the release was conducted in a controlled manner, including 100,000 kuruma shrimp fry, 3,500 leopard squids, 1,000 silver-mouth turban snails, and 200 sand dollars, totaling over 105,000 individuals (or pieces).
