Man Flees Into New Taipei City Council During Police Check

(Central News Agency, New Taipei, 27th) Officers from Wensheng Precinct, Haishan Division of the New Taipei City Police Department, spotted a suspicious man during a patrol around 11:00 AM today. When they approached for questioning, the man scaled a wall into the City Council premises and escaped. The Council is currently in session; however, the man did not enter the assembly hall, where security and police were maintaining order. The City Council stated that the man jumped from an alley on Wenhua Road Sec. 2 into the underground parking lot, then moved through the stairs into the campus before climbing a tree near the fence and fleeing toward the nearby Arts Center parking lot. Police reported no injuries or property loss and are using CCTV to identify and catch the suspect. 1150427
