A male body was discovered yesterday afternoon on the coast of Yanliao, Shoufeng Township, Hualien. Citizens reported the finding to the Coast Guard, who arrived to handle the situation. Due to the swelling of the body after long exposure to seawater, immediate identification was not possible as no documents were found.

Recently, the family of a 54-year-old man surnamed Li reported that he had not returned after going fishing in the Beibin area on the morning of the 18th. Police and Coast Guard had searched from the West Dike of Hualien Port to the Hualien River estuary for several days without success. Following the discovery of the body on the 26th, Li's family was notified for identification, and the features were found to match. The case has been reported to the prosecutor for autopsy to clarify the cause of death.

The 12th Coastal Guard Team of the Eastern Branch urged citizens to use the 'GO Ocean' app to check sea conditions and environment before engaging in maritime activities. In case of emergencies, the '118' hotline is available for immediate rescue assistance.
