(Central News Agency reporter Yang Yao-ju, Taipei 27th) Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung, as a special envoy of the President, visited Eswatini. He stated on social media today that during his visit, he inspected the achievements of smart medical cooperation and emphasized that Taiwan will continue to combine medical expertise, smart technology, and institutional experience to provide local people with more timely and precise medical care.

Lin Chia-lung visited the Kingdom of Eswatini, an African ally, on the 25th as a special envoy of the President, to attend events such as the 40th anniversary of King Mswati III's accession to the throne, his 58th birthday, and the 58th anniversary of Eswatini's independence.

Lin Chia-lung posted on Facebook, noting that on the morning of the 26th local time, he and Eswatini's Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, jointly visited the Manzini Government Hospital in Manzini, Eswatini's largest city, to inspect the achievements of Taiwan-Eswatini smart medical cooperation. The Taiwan medical team has been deeply involved in Eswatini for 18 years, accumulating cooperation results from rural medical outreach to hospital reconstruction.

Lin Chia-lung explained that to cooperate with the Eswatini government's policy of promoting medical decentralization, the medical team moved from the capital Mbabane to Manzini, assisting the Manzini Government Hospital in transforming into Eswatini's first smart medical demonstration hospital. Through the introduction of Taiwan's ICT advantages, medical processes from registration, waiting, diagnosis to dispensing are fully digitized, combined with remote specialist outpatient services and remote radiological image interpretation, allowing local people to receive more timely and precise medical care.

Lin Chia-lung pointed out that since Taipei Medical University took over the medical team stationed in Eswatini in 2009, it has cumulatively dispatched over 400 medical personnel, provided over 220,000 clinical services, and assisted Eswatini in establishing a national medical licensing examination system. At the same time, it has guided Eswatini students graduating from Taiwan's university programs in internships and examinations, and currently, doctors trained by Taiwan account for 70% of Eswatini's registered doctors.

Lin Chia-lung emphasized that in the future, Taiwan will continue to work hand in hand with Eswatini, combining medical expertise, smart technology, and institutional experience to allow more people to enjoy health and well-being, and at the same time, let the international community see Taiwan's contribution as a force for good.
