(Central News Agency reporter Yu Hsiao-tsung, Taipei, 27th) The three-day Labor Day holiday is fast approaching. According to statistics from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Administration, the average accommodation booking rate for May 1st to 2nd exceeded 60% in a total of nine counties and cities, with Lienchiang County being the highest, surpassing 80%.

This year's Labor Day is a three-day consecutive holiday, and the Tourism Administration recently announced the latest holiday booking rates.

According to Tourism Administration statistics, the top 3 highest average booking rates for May 1st to 2nd were Lienchiang County (81.25%), Taipei City (79.72%), and Nantou County (71.75%), respectively.

The Tourism Administration stated that including Miaoli County, Chiayi City, and Tainan City, a total of six counties and cities exceeded the overall average of 63.11%. If New Taipei City, Pingtung County, and Taitung County are also included, then a total of nine counties and cities exceeded 60%.

Looking at each day of the holiday separately, the Tourism Administration pointed out that the top 3 accommodation bookings for May 1st were Lienchiang County, Nantou County, and Tainan City; for May 2nd, they were Taipei City, Lienchiang County, and Miaoli County; and for May 3rd, they were Taipei City, Lienchiang County, and Taoyuan City.

The Tourism Administration analyzed that activities such as the peak season of Lienchiang County's Blue Tears, large business exhibitions and city getaways in Taipei City, and the Hehuanshan azalea season and Sun Moon Lake firefly season in Nantou County drove accommodation bookings. However, many people tend to arrange their itineraries and bookings closer to the holiday, and accommodation providers are continuously accepting bookings, so the final occupancy rates for each county and city may differ.
