(CNA, Keelung, 27th) The Japanese 3-masted sailing ship 'Miraie,' which set sail from Ishigaki Port, Japan, arrived at Keelung Port yesterday and docked at East Pier 4. It is expected to stay until the morning of the 30th. Its elegant and classical appearance immediately attracted significant attention upon entering the port. The Keelung Branch of Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) stated that National Taiwan Ocean University invited the 52.16-meter long, 8.6-meter wide vessel with a 30-meter main mast to visit Keelung as part of a maritime education cooperation project. 'Miraie' is an official support ship for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, actively responding to the G20 Osaka 'Blue Ocean Vision.' Beyond talent cultivation, it carries a scientific mission for 'Ocean Microplastic Survey' to support UN Sustainable Development Goals for ocean protection. The ship will provide students and faculty from Japan and Taiwan a rare opportunity to observe traditional sailing skills integrated with modern power systems, deepening cultural links and international engagement in ocean conservation.
