Hsinchu City YouBike 30-Minute Subsidy Attracts Users, Daily Rides Exceed 10,000, More New Bikes Added

(Central News Agency reporter Lu Kang-Chun, Hsinchu City, 27th) Hsinchu City Government stated that after promoting the YouBike first 30-minute rental subsidy policy within its jurisdiction, the usage turnover rate has significantly increased, with the highest single-day usage exceeding 10,000 rides. Today, 250 new bikes were further deployed to provide convenient green commuting services.

Hsinchu City Government issued a press release today, pointing out that starting from April 1st this year, citizens renting YouBike at stations in Hsinchu City can enjoy the first 30 minutes free for general YouBike 2.0, and a NT$10 subsidy for YouBike 2.0E electric-assist bikes. Today, an additional 150 new general bikes and 100 new electric-assist bikes were deployed, increasing the city's operational scale to 2505 vehicles.

The Hsinchu City Department of Transportation pointed out that driven by both subsidy incentives and an increase in vehicles, YouBike's highest single-day usage in Hsinchu City has exceeded 10,000 rides. To maintain service quality, demands have been made to strengthen dispatching at popular stations and continue promoting station densification and precise column addition plans.

In the press release, YouBike Chairman Liu Li-Chu said that Hsinchu citizens have a high acceptance of YouBike 2.0E electric-assist bikes. Coupled with the city government's subsidy measures, it has effectively enhanced the convenience of medium to long-distance connections. With new bikes gradually in place and the city's operational scale expanding, they will continue to strengthen dispatching efficiency and service quality to create a green commuting lifestyle circle.
