(Central News Agency reporter Huang Li-chun, Taipei 27th) Taipei City Councilor Chen Yi-chun stated today that water leakage problems at Taipei Dome are frequent, with severe efflorescence on the ceiling of the parking lot and water seepage marks next to pillars, demanding the Taipei City Government take strong action to improve. The Taipei City Sports Department said it will inspect with relevant associations and demand improvements from Farglory.

The Taipei City Council held an education department interpellation and response session this afternoon. DPP City Councilor Chen Yi-chun stated during her interpellation that the water leakage problem at Taipei Dome has never been thoroughly resolved. During an inspection of the Taipei Dome parking lot on the 24th, she found severe efflorescence on the ceiling of the B3 parking lot, indicating long-term water seepage in the building, and large areas of paint peeling.

Chen Yi-chun said that the inspection video showed water marks next to the parking lot pillars, causing ground accumulation of water; at the area from the food court to the parking lot and MRT, the ceiling joints continuously leaked water, and near the elevators, it could easily cause passers-by to slip, also negatively impacting visitor perception.

Chen Yi-chun mentioned that Taipei Dome has been fined for water leaks, amounting to NT$2.4 million since November 2024; and from 2023 to March this year, out of a total of 45 rain test records, 35 recorded leaks, with no area spared from the roof, cat walks, to the audience seats.

Taipei City Sports Department Director You Chu-ping responded that they will quickly find relevant associations to inspect the site and ask Farglory to make improvements. (Editor: Hsiao Po-wen) 1150427
