Illinois State Representative Theresa Mah, representatives from the Philippine and German Consulates General in Chicago, as well as leaders from academia, business, and overseas Taiwanese communities, attended the splendid performance led by Lin Chi-yuan, promoting cultural and artistic exchange between Taiwan and the U.S. and enhancing Taiwan's visibility in the U.S. Midwest.

Lei Yen-feng, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, noted with pleasure the brilliant performance of emerging Taiwanese conductor Lin Chi-yuan in Chicago, conducting 'Rising Stars' opera performances for two consecutive years. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Taiwan's presidential direct election, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, and the 47th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act. Taiwan's democratic and open environment safeguards the freedom of musical and artistic creation, leading to an increasing number of outstanding Taiwanese musicians, artists, and filmmakers, as well as their works, shining internationally.

In 2024, Lin Chi-yuan distinguished herself from 700 competitors with her excellent musical interpretation, expression, and coordination, becoming the first conductor of the Ryan Opera Center, part of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She is the first Taiwanese conductor in the Ryan Opera Center's 50-year history.

Taiwanese drama and film works have also recently premiered in the Chicago area. The Hakka comedy 'Grandpa Discarded at My Place,' a collaboration between Taiwan and the Philippines, and the Golden Horse Award-winning Best Feature Film 'The Great Fog,' premiered on the 2nd and 10th, respectively, at the Chicago 'Asian Pop-Up Cinema.'
