(Central News Agency, London, 27th, Combined Foreign Reports) A shooting incident occurred during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on the 25th, where Erika Kirk, the widow of the late conservative leader Charlie Kirk, was also present. A video from that night showed Erika crying and saying, 'I just want to go home' as she was escorted away from the scene.
According to a report by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a video shared by CNN reporter Sara Sidner captures Erika Kirk being led out of the hotel, where she can be heard saying: 'I just want to go home.'
Fox News anchor Bret Baier told the channel that Erika was hiding under a table near him and was extremely traumatized by the shooting.
In September last year, Erika's husband, right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed while delivering a speech at an event in Utah.
Charlie Kirk was a key ally of US President Donald Trump and one of the most prominent internet personalities and leaders of the youth conservative movement. Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, also maintained a close relationship with Kirk.
According to a document of about 1,000 words obtained by authorities, the suspect, who was subdued after opening fire outside the White House Correspondents' Association dining hall that night, initially targeted Trump and his government officials. (Compiled by Yang Zhaoyan)
