The 2026 Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Tourism Festival is set to take place from May 2 to July 5. The Pingtung County Government has planned a series of events, including ocean concerts, the 'Grand Tuna Market,' and a seafood promotion banquet, inviting the public to visit Donggang and taste the seasonal bluefin tuna.

At a press conference today, the county government mentioned that the festival, launched in 2001, has become one of the most representative fishing and tourism festivals in Taiwan. By integrating musical performances, market sales, and culinary experiences, the event showcases Donggang's unique fishing culture and maritime charm, becoming a key brand for attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Xiao Yu-long, Director of the Communication Department, noted that the festival kicks off on May 2 with an 'Ocean Concert' featuring artists like Nick Chou and Tai Ai-ling. On May 9, a 'Stay in Liuqiu Concert' will be held in Little Liuqiu. The 'Seafood Promotion Banquet' on June 6 at Donglong Temple will offer classic banquet dishes made with local ingredients, accompanied by red ruby-themed cabaret shows. On June 13-14, the 'Grand Tuna Market' at Dapeng Bay will feature over 100 vendors, creative crafts, and performances by Gao Er-xuan and others. The 'Classic Night' on June 27 will feature veteran singer Richie Jen. The county is also collaborating with Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corp and local brands for co-branded products and high-speed rail travel packages.
