Around 8 PM last night, Ms. Wu was driving east to west along Cihang 3rd Road in Yilan City when she accidentally crashed into a roadside utility pole. The powerful impact caused her vehicle to overturn into an adjacent large ditch. After receiving the report, police and firefighters dispatched personnel to the scene to rescue Ms. Wu and transport her to National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University Hospital for treatment. Although Ms. Wu had no obvious external injuries, she remains in a coma due to drowning.

The Yilan Precinct of the Yilan County Government Police Bureau stated that due to Ms. Wu's injuries, a breathalyzer test could not be performed. Police will request a warrant for appraisal from the Yilan District Prosecutors Office to draw blood and test her internal alcohol concentration.
