(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Yun-ting, Taipei, 26th) According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Economic Affairs' International Trade Administration, Taiwan's drone export momentum has significantly increased. In the first quarter of this year, export value reached US$115.85 million, already surpassing last year's full-year level of US$93.419 million. Moreover, the landscape of export markets has changed, with the Czech Republic overtaking Poland to become Taiwan's largest drone export market.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that according to data from the Ministry of Finance's Statistics Department, the export value of complete drones in the first quarter of this year reached US$115.85 million, with the single-quarter performance already reaching approximately 1.2 times that of last year's full year. Looking at individual markets, exports to the Czech Republic in the first quarter of this year amounted to approximately US$100 million, showing the most outstanding performance. In contrast, Poland, which was the largest market last year, had an export value of approximately US$11.75 million in the first quarter of this year, indicating a significant disparity.

Taiwan's drone industry has shown leapfrog growth in exports in recent years. The Ministry of Economic Affairs pointed out that last year's drone export value was US$93.419 million, a significant increase of 21.2 times compared to the full year of 113. The main reason for this growth is Taiwan's long-term deep cultivation of international markets. With the global demand for a "non-red supply chain" heating up, Taiwan has established a good reputation in European and American markets due to its high-quality and reliable components.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs further stated that geopolitical factors have boosted demand in Central and Eastern European markets. Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland, and Lithuania have seen a significant increase in demand for dual-use drones. These countries are actively raising defense budgets and seeking non-Chinese supply sources, which perfectly matches Taiwan's supply capabilities in key areas such as airframes, power systems, and communication modules with local demand.

To help businesses seize long-term opportunities, the government continues to promote industrial linkages with Central and Eastern European countries through participation in exhibitions, business matching, and signing memorandums of understanding (MOUs), assisting enterprises in establishing stable cooperative relationships. Looking ahead to this year, the Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that drone export performance is expected to be better than last year, continuing to reach new highs.
