Su Chiao-hui and Li Sichuan Cross Paths at Community Dinner; Hou Yu-ih Endorses Li

NEW TAIPEI (CNA) — The campaign for the New Taipei City mayoral election is intensifying. DPP candidate Su Chiao-hui appeared at a Chiayi Fellow Villagers Association dinner in Banqiao today, where she encountered Mayor Hou Yu-ih and KMT candidate Li Sichuan.

During her remarks, Su expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from the Chiayi community, emphasizing her achievements and commitment to leading New Taipei forward. She noted that people from Chiayi are discerning voters who can recognize hard work.

Meanwhile, Mayor Hou Yu-ih, who was also in attendance with Li Sichuan, made a strong pitch for his deputy. He told the audience that Li Sichuan embodies the simple and practical spirit of Chiayi people. 'He doesn't talk nonsense; he just uses his hammer to get things done,' Hou said, calling on the community to support Li just as they have supported him.

Li Sichuan stated that he has learned much from Hou, particularly the spirit of working for the people regardless of political affiliation. He pledged to take over Hou's mantle with the utmost sincerity and continue working hard for New Taipei.
