Liu He-ran today accompanied Peng Kang-chieh, who is participating in the KMT Zhongli District City Councilor primary, to canvass for votes at Zhongzhen Market in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City. When asked by the media, Liu He-ran stated in a joint interview that he has been serving in New Taipei City for about 39 years since graduating from university. Running for election has never been a very important option in his life, and his current biggest goal is to stay in New Taipei City with Mayor Hou Yu-ih to complete the remaining seven-plus months of municipal administration, and hopes for a smooth handover.

Liu He-ran pointed out that Changhua has many local talents, and Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei's eight years of governance have been excellent and well-received by county residents. Under her leadership, suitable local candidates who understand the local pulse and are willing to run for Changhua County Magistrate will surely be found. His biggest current job and wish is to remain in New Taipei City.

Reporters asked if KMT Chairman Cheng Li-wen and Wang Hui-mei had urged him to run. Liu He-ran said that there are currently four potential candidates competing in Changhua, and he promised not to disclose the names of his good friends who urged him. He thanked everyone for their concern and hoped that Changhua, under County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei's eight years of governance, would have a smooth transition to the next leader, allowing the county's development to continue.

When asked if he was certain he would not run, Liu He-ran responded, "That is currently not an option for me." (Edited by Lin Shu-hui) 1150426
