Central News Agency (Tehran, 26th, Comprehensive Foreign Report) Iranian judicial authorities stated that Iran today executed a man who was identified as a member of the Sunni extremist organization 'Jaish al-Adl' and had participated in attacks against security forces in southeastern Iran.

According to Mizan Online, a website under the Iranian judiciary, the man, named Amer Ramesh, was arrested during an anti-terrorism operation in Chabahar County, Sistan-Baluchestan Province.

Agence France-Presse could not immediately ascertain the dates of his arrest and sentencing.

Ramesh was found guilty of 'armed rebellion with bomb attacks and ambushes on military forces' and was a member of 'Jaish al-Adl'. This illegal extremist organization is also listed as a terrorist organization by the United States.

According to Iranian judicial authorities, the court sentenced Ramesh to death. After his lawyer appealed, the Supreme Court upheld the original verdict, and the authorities executed him this morning.

Iran has carried out multiple executions while it is at war with Israel and the United States. The current conflict is temporarily on hold due to a ceasefire.

Iran also executed another man yesterday, whom judicial authorities claimed was accused of carrying out 'missions' for Israeli intelligence agencies during large-scale protests in January.

According to human rights groups such as Amnesty International, Iran is the second most frequent user of the death penalty in the world, after China.

Sistan-Baluchestan Province, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, is an area where the Sunni Muslim Baluch ethnic minority resides. It is one of the poorest regions in predominantly Shiite Iran. Iranian security forces have been continuously clashing with drug trafficking and separatist armed groups in the area for many years. (Compiler: Yang Chao-yen) 1150426
