Police officers lawfully stopped him and notified a tow truck for removal. Unexpectedly, the rider, unwilling for his heavy motorcycle to be towed, started his bike to leave and collided with an officer, causing minor abrasions to the officer's hands. The officer was sent for medical examination and found to be fine. On-site officers immediately subdued and arrested him, and the entire case was transferred for investigation on suspicion of obstructing public duty.

The Seventh Highway Police Brigade of the National Highway Police Bureau stated today that 38-year-old Lin entered National Highway 3 mistakenly on a large heavy motorcycle at around 11 PM last night and was intercepted by officers performing a drunk driving checkpoint duty at the 231km mark northbound Nantou Service Area.

After officers understood the situation, Lin entered via the Zhongliao side road of the Nantou Service Area. He was lawfully cited, and a tow truck was notified to remove the vehicle. Unexpectedly, while waiting for the tow, the man, unwilling for his vehicle to be towed, started his motorcycle to leave and collided with an officer, causing abrasions to one officer's hands. Police stated that large heavy motorcycles are not allowed to drive on national highways.
