The Danjiang Bridge is nearing its completion and opening. The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the New Taipei City Government held a grand parade titled 'Together, Walk on the Bridge' today. Led by a giant 'Happy Fawn' balloon, over 30 parade groups and more than 10,000 people walked onto the bridge. Scheduled for an official opening on May 12, the bridge has already hosted various activities including bridge climbing, road running, and cycling. Today's parade started from Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, featuring a carnival atmosphere. Deputy Minister of Transportation Chen Yen-bo stated that the bridge serves not just as a spatial connection but also as a guardian of the Tamsui River mouth's natural environment. He expressed hope that the bridge would become a landmark making the world see Taiwan. New Taipei Vice Mayor Liu He-ran added that the bridge connects Tamsui and Bali, bringing breakthroughs in lifestyle, industry, and tourism through central and local cooperation.
