(Taipei, April 25, Central News Agency reporter Wu Shu-wei) The 2026 Thailand Cultural Festival began yesterday, with an opening press conference held today. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Thailand's representative in Taiwan, stated that this year's event is themed "Creative Life, Creative Living," hoping to showcase Thailand's unique creativity through the vibrant lifestyle of the Thai people, and that the cultural festival can become a bridge connecting Taiwan and Thailand.

The Thai Trade and Economic Office is hosting the 2026 Thailand Cultural Festival at Far Eastern Department Store Xinyi A13 from April 24 to 26. The opening press conference was held this afternoon, attracting many people to witness the style of the attending Thai artists. Representatives in Taiwan, including Ninad Deshpande (Director of the India Taipei Association), Aznifah Isnariah Binti Abdul Ghani (Representative of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre), Sia Ai Ching (Representative of the Brunei Trade and Tourism Office in Taiwan), and Lin Chao-hung (Director of the Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs), attended.

Boonsatheanwong said that this is the third year the Thailand Cultural Festival has been held. Last year, Thailand nationally mourned the passing of Queen Sirikit, who dedicated her life to the construction and development of Thailand, especially focusing on the welfare of the people and playing a vital role in maintaining and showcasing Thailand's image in the international community. The Thailand Cultural Festival also features Thai national costumes, which are a result of the Queen Mother's efforts. Therefore, the public is invited to use an artificial intelligence (AI) interactive experience to try on the national costumes designed by the Queen Mother.

Boonsatheanwong pointed out that this year's Thailand Cultural Festival invited Thai dance troupes and artists to perform in Taiwan, as well as 13 T-Pop artists. It also collaborated with the Thai Creative Economy Agency to select 10 Thai brands to exhibit in Taiwan, presenting Thailand's unique creativity and modern lifestyle, hoping that the cultural festival can become a bridge connecting Taiwan and Thailand.

Far Eastern Department Store stated that this year's Thailand Cultural Festival integrates "main stage performances" and "special style markets," gathering approximately 30 stalls and over 20 Thai brands and artisans, offering diverse and rich lifestyle proposals from classic Thai cuisine, aromatherapy, designer selections to cultural crafts, allowing the public to experience the contemporary expression of Thai culture through taste, sight, and interactive experiences.
