(Central News Agency reporter Liao Wen-chi, Taipei, April 25) A Taiwanese tour group reportedly had a rollover accident in Gansu on the 24th, causing multiple casualties. The Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) confirmed on the evening of the 25th that a group of over 30 people had a rollover accident while riding an amusement park vehicle, resulting in 1 death and 12 injuries.
The SEF stated that Mr. Chen's group of over 30 Taiwanese citizens traveled to mainland China on the 20th. On the afternoon of the 24th, a rollover accident occurred involving an amusement park vehicle in Gansu. Among the 15 passengers on the vehicle, 1 person died and 12 were injured. Currently, 9 injured individuals remain hospitalized for observation.
The SEF said that upon receiving the report, it immediately contacted the Taipei Association of Travel Agencies and the Lanzhou Taiwanese Business Association, and maintained contact with the Mainland Affairs Council and the Ministry of Interior to assist in handling subsequent matters.
