Taipei, April 25 (CNA) — The Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) held a selection committee meeting this morning and decided to terminate the contract of women's national team head coach Prasobchoke Chokemor early. Technical Director Matt Ross proposed Patrick De Wilde, an experienced Belgian coach, as the new head coach, with a final decision pending at the next meeting. After the team failed to secure a World Cup spot via the Asian Cup, the Taiwan Women's Footballers Union submitted a petition to the sports department and CTFA, accusing the Thai head coach and his staff of severe 'dysfunction' during preparation, citing a lack of scientific training and data support. They called for an immediate change. CTFA Chairman Chang Tsan revealed that concerns had been raised before the tournament, but a change was postponed to avoid affecting morale mid-tournament. Following an investigation, CTFA officially announced the termination today and confirmed a coaching staff reshuffle. New candidate De Wilde is expected to lead the team into the East Asian Cup in June, aiming for World Cup qualification.
