Tainan Canal Music Festival starts May 1, a quick look at the traffic guide

(Central News Agency reporter Chang Jung-hsiang, Tainan, 25th) To celebrate the centenary of the Tainan Canal opening in 2026, an outdoor music festival will kick off on May 1 for two consecutive days at Hele Plaza and Huanhe Street. The Tainan City Transportation Bureau today released a traffic guide, announcing that traffic controls will be in place and advising music fans to utilize public transportation.

The Transportation Bureau pointed out today that the Tainan Canal Centenary Outdoor Music Festival will create a riverside musical feast, with famous artists and bands taking the stage in turn. Traffic controls will be implemented from 0:00 to 10:00 PM daily on May 1 and 2, covering Huanhe Street (from Section 2 of Minsheng Road to Jinhua New Road) and Zhongzheng Road (from Huanhe Street to Section 3 of Jinhua Road).

The Transportation Bureau advises fans to make full use of public transport. People from out of town can take the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) to Tainan Station, transfer to the THSR shuttle bus H31 to the Yonghua Civic Center, and then take a city bus to the venue. Alternatively, take the Taiwan Railways to Tainan Station and transfer to bus routes like 0 Left, 14, 98, or 6 to reach stops around Hele Plaza. Or, start from the Tainan Bus Station and enter the venue via city buses.

If riding a YouBike, there are stations around the venue such as Hele Plaza (Kangle Street, Jinhua Road), Hai'an Zhengxing, Hai'an Zhongzheng, Hai'an Fuqian, Minsheng Huanhe, and the Canal Star Diamond parking lot, providing a variety of transport options.

In terms of parking, the Transportation Bureau has planned multiple temporary and existing parking spaces, including the Xiejin Elementary School parking lot, street parking along Huanhe Street and Daliang Road, the Hai'an Road underground parking lot, and the Canal Star Diamond parking lot.
