Dapeng Elementary School in New Taipei City announced today that the Jinshan Wealth God Temple Charity donated NT$700,000 to assist schools in Wanli, Jinshan, and Shimen districts. The funds will be used to build artificial intelligence (AI) reading systems to reduce the urban-rural educational gap and promote digital reading. Principal Xu Jia-hong of Dapeng Elementary noted that their long-term reading programs have faced challenges due to limited manpower and resources. The new AI system includes voice assistants, adaptive recommendations, and self-service borrowing equipment, enhancing students' reading convenience. This initiative links seven schools, forming a cross-school cooperative smart reading network. Huang Qiu-bin, Secretary General of the charity, expressed hope that this donation will empower rural children to overcome geographic limitations with diverse learning tools. Additionally, Wu Jia-shan, Director of the New Taipei City Library, highlighted efforts to transform reading into a dynamic, interactive lifestyle experience for all citizens.
