Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen visited New Taipei City today to support Kuomintang (KMT) mayoral candidate Lee Si-chuan. During their visit to Cihui Temple in Banqiao, Lu affectionately called Lee 'Xiao Chuan Ge' (Brother Xiao Chuan) and jokingly referred to him as 'Crayon Xiao Chuan' due to his thick eyebrows resembling the manga character Crayon Shin-chan. Lu highlighted Lee's extensive administrative experience and noted that several former and current mayors, including Eric Chu and Chiang Wan-an, had vied for Lee's expertise as deputy mayor. Lee Si-chuan expressed confidence in his polling and emphasized his focus on the 2026 election. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Su Chiao-hui, attending a different event, remarked that inter-city exchanges are a positive part of Taiwan's 'one-day living circle' and stated she remains open to similar interactions with other cities to benefit Taiwan's development.
