(Central News Agency reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, 25th) The Legislative Yuan Central and Southern Service Center today held the "Democracy Navigator - Little Speaker Experience Camp" public welfare event at the Democracy Political Park in Wufeng District, Taichung, inviting elementary school students from rural Changhua to learn about democratic systems and public participation in a relaxed atmosphere through challenges.

This event combined the efforts of private and academic sectors, with the Taiwan Awakening Care Association and Asia University Legal Service Society participating as team mentors and challenge guides, accompanying the students through various tasks such as voting experiences and inauguration oaths. The children enthusiastically participated, adding a lively and warm atmosphere to the solemn provincial assembly hall.

The Legislative Yuan Central and Southern Service Center explained that when the "Little Speaker Camp" was first launched last year, it quickly reached full capacity upon opening for registration, receiving enthusiastic responses from parents and students. At that time, some public welfare groups also brought children to observe from the sidelines. Therefore, this year's Little Speaker Camp specifically combined private sector efforts to accompany more children in engaging with public affairs and learning democratic awareness from an early age through a public welfare approach.

Legislative Yuan Deputy Secretary-General Chang Yu-jung, who attended the event, stated that due to last year's success, the Legislative Yuan will develop the "Little Speaker Camp" for elementary school students and the "Democracy Combat Camp" primarily for university students into two major brand camps for promoting democracy education, allowing children and youth of different age groups to understand democratic values and the operation of public affairs through actual participation.

Chang Yu-jung also affirmed the dedication of the Asia University volunteer team, which provided more children with the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful learning process, and encouraged the students to take what they learned today back into their lives, becoming future citizens who are willing to listen and brave enough to express themselves.

The Legislative Yuan Central and Southern Service Center pointed out that with the gradual renovation of various municipal historical sites in the Democracy Political Park this year, a series of "Reviving the Glory of the Provincial Assembly" activities will be planned in diverse forms, allowing more people to enter the park, the birthplace of Taiwan's earliest democracy, to learn about Taiwan's democratic development process and experience the inheritance of parliamentary culture and democratic spirit.
