The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) held the awards ceremony for the 2nd 'Best AI Awards' today at Nangang Exhibition Center. Minister Kung Ming-hsin stated that while Taiwan leads in AI hardware like semiconductors and servers, the next crucial step is transforming AI into practical applications across all industries ('百工百業'). The competition attracted 1,487 teams from 36 countries. Top gold medals were awarded to companies like Delta Electronics and Kneron, and institutions like National Cheng Kung University. Kung noted that under the 'AI New Ten Major Constructions,' the MOEA has established over 50 pilot sites and helped over 2,600 companies implement AI. The MOEA highlighted trends in Agentic AI and Edge AI, with over 430 projects focusing on AI lightweighting to enable real-time operation on factory equipment.
