The Tainan City Government Sports Bureau apologized tonight, stating that preliminary findings suggest recent heavy rainfall caused infield red soil to erode and accumulate in the drainage channels, leading to inefficient drainage.

The Sports Bureau issued a press release tonight, noting that the flooding at the Asia-Pacific Baseball Main Stadium after rain was initially determined to be due to recent heavy rainfall causing infield red soil erosion, which then clogged drainage channels, impeding smooth discharge.

The Sports Bureau has initially grasped the situation and has scheduled for construction units and maintenance teams to conduct on-site inspection and cleaning operations immediately after the completion of this week's games, and to refine the maintenance mechanism.
