Zhongxiao Branch robbed, CTBC Bank: Employees and customers all safe, no impact on operations

Central News Agency (CNA) Correspondent Su Ssu-yun, Taipei, April 24 — The CTBC Bank Zhongxiao Branch on Section 4, Zhongxiao East Road, Daan District, Taipei City, was robbed this afternoon, but the suspect has been subdued by the police. CTBC Bank stated that they are grateful to the police for subduing the suspect at the first instance, confirming that customers and employees are all safe and there are no financial losses. This incident will not affect the branch's operations, and they will cooperate with the police investigation.

A man surnamed Lin, in his 30s, today afternoon, used a BB gun and a fake hand grenade to rob the CTBC Bank in the East District of Taipei City. Fortunately, alert bank staff immediately reported it to the police, and a large number of police officers arrived at the scene. Lin was subdued, and preliminary police investigation indicated that Lin committed the crime possibly due to financial pressure, with no accomplices.

Regarding the robbery of CTBC Bank's Zhongxiao Branch, CTBC Bank issued a statement this evening, expressing gratitude to the police for immediately subduing the suspect and maintaining public order, confirming that customers and employees are safe and there are no financial losses.
