Fang Yung-hua, a student at the National Taiwan University of Arts, ranked second but swept the "Best Popularity Award," "Best Stage Charm Award," and the "TCO Special Award," making him arguably the biggest winner.

The Taipei Traditional Chinese Instrument Competition attracted many musicians from other countries. The championship this time was claimed by Song Zixuan, a student at the China Conservatory of Music. Local competitor Fang Yung-hua took second place, and Chinese musician Qi Zixuan from the Central Conservatory of Music took third.

According to the press release from the Taipei Chinese Orchestra (TCO), Fang Yung-hua also received the "TCO Special Award" voted by TCO members, the "Best Popularity Award" voted by the live audience, and the "Best Stage Charm Award" voted by media judges. The Best Interpretation Award for the final piece "Pipa Quyun" went to Qi Zixuan.

The jury for the semi-finals and finals consisted of top-tier professionals. The chief judge was Tang Liangxing, a renowned Chinese-American Pipa master residing in the US. Other judges included Canadian-Chinese Pipa master Liu Guilian, Professor Yang Jing from the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, Zhang Ying (Principal Pipa of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra), Deng Le (Principal Pipa of the Macao Chinese Orchestra), Taiwanese Pipa master Chung Pei-ling, and TCO Honorary Conductor Qu Chunquan.

TCO General Director Cheng Li-pin stated that nearly 100 young Pipa talents from around the world participated in this event, and standing out among so many outstanding competitors is no easy feat. Through the wonderful performances of these contestants, one can optimistically expect these "shining new Pipa stars" to become a vital force in the booming development of traditional Chinese music.
