(Central News Agency reporter Huang Ciao-wen, Taipei, 24th) The highly anticipated tender for the operating rights of Taipei Main Station's commercial complex is rumored to have been won by Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. However, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) has not yet officially announced the results. TRA today discreetly stated that the case is still under procedure and there is no related response.

Taipei Main Station is located at the core transportation hub of the capital, bringing together transportation systems such as TRA, High-Speed Rail, MRT, Airport MRT, national highways, and city buses. It sees a daily flow of over 600,000 people, and there are also multiple major development projects in the surrounding area.

The TRA Taipei Main Station commercial complex is currently operated by Breeze. The commercial contract is set to expire on July 24 this year. TRA announced the tender in mid-January this year, with the bid deadline on March 20, and results originally scheduled to be announced by the end of April. The contract period is 15 years, with an option for an 8-year extension, and an investment amount not less than NT$765 million. According to TRA's estimates, Taipei Main Station's annual revenue is around NT$4 billion, with a target of exceeding NT$5 billion.

Media reported that TRA recently held a selection meeting, and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi obtained the operating rights for Taipei Main Station's commercial complex. TRA stated in a written explanation that the case is still under procedure, and there is no related response.

It is understood that due to objections raised by a bidder, TRA will follow relevant procedures before making an external announcement. (Edited by Lin Shu-hui) 1150424
