(Central News Agency reporter Hong Xueguang, Kaohsiung, 24th) A police vehicle in Kaohsiung today, while driving on Zhongzheng 3rd Road in Xinxing District, collided with a car waiting to turn left from the opposite direction. The impact also affected two other cars behind the initial vehicle. Fortunately, no one was injured. Preliminary police investigation suggests that the 51-year-old officer, surnamed Wu, may have lost control due to feeling unwell, causing the vehicle to swerve and collide. The detailed cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The Xinxing Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Department explained that officer Wu, 51, was driving a police vehicle from the Gangshan Precinct to the Traffic Police Brigade to deliver official documents today. Around 11 AM, while driving on the intersection of Zhongzheng 3rd Road and Minzu Road in Xinxing District, he allegedly lost control due to feeling unwell, causing the vehicle to swerve and collide with a car waiting to turn left from the opposite direction. This collision subsequently affected two other cars behind the struck vehicle. Fortunately, other people at the scene were unharmed and did not require hospitalization.

Officers arrived at the scene to assist with traffic control to prevent secondary accidents and helped officer Wu get medical examination. His unit was subsequently notified, and the unit will care for the officer's health and clarify the detailed cause of the accident.
