Central News Agency
(CNA Reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, New Taipei, 24th) Kuomintang (KMT) New Taipei mayoral candidate Lee Shu-chuan and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Su Chiao-hui successively sought support at a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) association event today, while Taiwan People's Party (TPP) candidate Huang Kuo-chang braved the rain to cycle around the city canvassing for votes.
Su Chiao-hui attended the inaugural meeting of the New Taipei City CPA Association in the evening. She stated that a sound financial system and businesses rely on CPA professionals, and the credit they accumulate cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI). She added that her 10-year track record in politics is as reliable and stable as a CPA, hoping to gain their support to lead New Taipei into its next stage.
By the time Su Chiao-hui arrived at the venue, Lee Shu-chuan had already left; the two did not share the stage or interact.
Earlier, Lee Shu-chuan shared the stage with New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih, shaking hands with CPAs table by table to win their support. Lee stated that CPAs play a crucial role as gatekeepers, ensuring corporate financial transparency and sound systems.
Meanwhile, Huang Kuo-chang continued his bicycle tour around New Taipei in the rain, hoping to garner support in the upcoming "Blue-White alliance" public opinion polls. The convoy started from the Zhulin Mountain Guanyin Temple in Linkou District and arrived at the final stop near the entrance of the New Taipei City Hall in the evening.
Accompanied by TPP New Taipei City Councilor Chen Shih-hsuan and other councilor candidates, Huang Kuo-chang expressed his hope that in the final sprint of the polling phase, everyone could "wait by their phones" to voice their support. He also thanked his supporters for braving the rain to ride with him. (Editor: Lee Ming-tsung) 1150424
