(CNA Reporter Wen Kuei-hsiang, Taipei, 24th) Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim stated today that visiting the Taipei International Security Technology Application Expo (Secutech) and witnessing Taiwan's overall progress in security, disaster prevention, and public safety technology is inspiring. She added that facing climate change and various complex challenges, the government will continue to work hand-in-hand with the private sector to strengthen overall societal resilience and prepare for a safer future.

Vice President Hsiao visited the "Secutech 2026 27th Taipei International Security Technology Application Expo" at the Nangang Exhibition Center this morning, affirming that the exhibition echoes national policies and showcases concrete results in promoting whole-of-society defense resilience.

The Presidential Office pointed out that the Vice President sequentially visited the booths of PinRui Communications, the Critical Infrastructure Security Technology Application Zone, LILIN Enterprise, the Happy Building Theme Pavilion, the Net-Zero Sustainability ESG Overall Solution Theme Pavilion, the Disaster Resilience Alliance Theme Pavilion, and the Next-Generation Communication Technology Application Pavilion. She gained an in-depth understanding of the forward-looking technological developments in smart security, AIoT, fire safety, access control, and diverse industrial applications.

The Vice President posted on Facebook today that visiting the Expo and seeing Taiwan's overall progress in security, disaster prevention, and public safety technology is inspiring.

She said that from smart surveillance to AI image analysis, Taiwan's independently developed software and hardware have gone international, integrating cloud and AI models to detect and track risks in real-time. Through scenario drills in transportation and crowd management, emergency responses can be deployed in advance. In scenarios involving large events and high-density crowds, these technologies act as a vital backbone for maintaining public safety, making decision-making more immediate and precise.

Vice President Hsiao stated that simultaneously, from healthy buildings and circular building materials to agriculture, firefighting, and flood prevention tech, Taiwan is integrating safety, sustainability, and resilience. In the fields of communications and information security, AI anti-fraud and personal data protection are safeguarding digital security. Facing climate change and complex challenges, the government will continue to collaborate with the private sector to strengthen overall societal resilience and prepare for a safer future.

The Presidential Office noted that this year's expo focuses on "Critical Infrastructure Security Protection" as its annual flagship theme, covering 9 critical sectors including energy, water resources, telecommunications, transportation, finance, emergency rescue, healthcare, government agencies, and industrial facilities.
