(Central News Agency, reporter Li Chien-chung, Nagoya, 24th) The Ministry of Sports and the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee organized a Nagoya Asian Games inspection delegation. During the tight 7-day schedule, Sports Minister Lee Yang shared his deep reflections, emphasizing that only by switching from an athlete to this role did he realize how meticulous the pre-trip preparations are, and he hopes to optimize the relay station to help athletes.

The 2026 Nagoya Asian Games will open on September 19. The Nagoya Asian Games inspection delegation departed on April 19. With a full schedule every day, they inspected more than 10 Asian Games venues. Lee Yang carefully listened to the briefings, intending to bring the latest information back to Taiwan to discuss with coaches and athletes.

In addition, Lee Yang attaches great importance to the relay station, even directly assigning follow-up tasks to the National Sports Training Center and the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science.

In an interview with the media, Lee Yang stated that from the perspective of the Ministry of Sports, the relay station set up by the National Sports Training Center must continue to be optimized. This ensures that athletes' needs are fully met, whether it's pre-match practice, post-match recovery, or the crucial issue of meal delivery. Especially regarding food, they must try their best to avoid athletes eating outside to prevent accidental ingestion of banned substances.

Transitioning from his past identity as an athlete to the Minister of Sports, Lee Yang realized through this inspection that there are so many details to pay attention to. He said, "I am very grateful that so many seniors and officials helped athletes arrange these things in the past. Now it's my turn to continue doing this well, leaving the athletes with no worries."

Lee Yang also specially thanked Hung Chih-chang, the Administrative Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Sports who accompanied the trip. "With his decades of experience dedicating himself to Taiwan's sports, he can directly identify various problems."

Lee Yang mentioned that since a large part of the athlete village accommodation provided by the organizing committee consists of cruise ships and modular container houses, the Ministry of Sports has already commissioned the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee to book 4 hotels outside the village in advance. It is estimated that 130 rooms will be available for allocation, allowing the athletes to live more comfortably. (Editor: Li Shu-hua) 1150424
