(CNA Reporter Chang Chien-chung, Hsinchu, 24th) IC design house MediaTek (2454) unveiled its new Dimensity Auto active AI smart cockpit solution today at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. MediaTek stated that it is collaborating with ecosystem partners to display a series of active AI smart cockpits, in-vehicle entertainment, and communication solutions, accelerating the innovative upgrade of smart mobility experiences.

MediaTek Vice President Chang Yu-tai stated through a press release that the Dimensity Auto platform has won recognition from numerous automakers, accelerating the comprehensive growth of MediaTek's automotive business. Through close cooperation with upstream and downstream industry partners, MediaTek has taken the lead in deeply applying agent AI to smart cockpit chips.

Chang Yu-tai pointed out that by leveraging edge-cloud collaboration, dual artificial intelligence (AI) engines, and improvements in agent AI inference efficiency, MediaTek has created an active AI smart cockpit solution, elevating the cockpit system from a passive tool to an intelligent assistant that understands both the car and its passengers.

Chang Yu-tai mentioned that MediaTek plans to launch a 2-nanometer smart cockpit chip in the future to further drive major breakthroughs in AI performance and energy efficiency, accelerating the arrival of the AI-defined vehicle era.

MediaTek indicated that the Dimensity Auto flagship in-vehicle communication platform, MT2739, can meet the technical demands of L3 and L4 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Through partnerships, they are launching robotaxis for a leading Chinese enterprise and unmanned logistics delivery vehicles with a mainstream logistics brand, both of which will hit the road this year.
