Ko Wen-je Billboard Vandalized with 'Corruption' Graffiti; One Suspect Arrested in Taichung

(CNA Reporter Chao Li-yen, Taichung, April 24th) The billboards of Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Taichung City Councilor Chiang Ho-shu and former Chairman Ko Wen-je were vandalized last month. Recently, words like "corruption" and "profiteering" were written on them again. Chiang Ho-shu was angered and filed a lawsuit. Police have identified two people and arrested one suspect today, sending him to be processed according to the law.

Chiang Ho-shu stated through a written press release today that his campaign posters located in the Yulangu area of Wufeng District were destroyed on April 18th and vandalized with graffiti again on the 21st. He originally chose tolerance based on social harmony, but because the posters were destroyed multiple times in a short period, it was clearly not a single accidental event, so he reported it to the police.

The Wufeng Police District of the Taichung City Police Bureau formed a task force after receiving the report. By expanding the review of surveillance camera footage around the scene and along the route, they found two suspects using black markers for vandalism at different times. Their actions were clear. Following the direction of the Taichung District Prosecutors Office, the police notified a 59-year-old man surnamed Chen to come to the station for an explanation on the 24th.
