KGI Life Insurance is celebrating its 63rd anniversary this year, concretely implementing its four major strategic goals: digital, innovation, sustainability, and finance. KGI Life Insurance pointed out that on April 24, over a hundred employees spontaneously formed the "KGI Life Love Sharing Chorus" to sing "I Do +1," showcasing their collective action in practicing corporate culture.
In its core financial business, KGI Life Insurance stated that it successfully adopted IFRS 17 (International Financial Reporting Standard 17 Insurance Contracts) this year, continuously optimizing its financial structure, with its net worth ratio increasing to 9.1%. In the first quarter of this year, new contract premium income was NT$25.2 billion, a 28% increase compared to the same period last year, continuously expanding the scale of new contract business. The product strategy focuses on foreign currency and investment-linked products, which have become the main drivers, while simultaneously strengthening the contractual service margin (CSM) and net worth, further advancing long-term profitability and financial resilience.
In terms of digital layout, KGI Life Insurance noted that it is deepening its digital transformation by integrating technology into service processes, from real-time detection of underwriting errors and automatic interpretation of medical imaging to 24/7 smart customer service and knowledge robot support. Human-machine collaboration assists frontline personnel, hoping to optimize internal collaboration and decision-making efficiency through agile tools, shortening operation times and improving response speed.
Regarding innovation promotion, KGI Life Insurance stated that it has partnered with the NTU Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center to launch the "Future Insurance Venture Capitalist" innovation proposal competition, encouraging employees to transform innovations into concrete solutions. For sustainability, KGI Life Insurance previously exclusively underwrote group insurance for volunteers in Hualien's Guangfu Township and donated all premiums back to the Ministry of Health and Welfare to assist in reconstruction, becoming the only life insurance company to receive the "Special Contribution Award" from the Financial Supervisory Commission and a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
