(CNA Reporter Li Chien-chung, Taipei 24th) The 115th National High School Athletic Games in Chiayi recently concluded. Chou Hsi-chun, a rising boxing star studying at New Taipei Municipal Mingder High School, is the daughter of Taiwanese Sanda national athlete Chou Ting-yuan. This time, Chou Hsi-chun not only won the gold medal in the high school women's 52kg boxing division, but also inherited her father's mantle by crossing over to bring home the gold in Sanda.

Chou Hsi-chun's father is the well-known Taiwanese Sanda national athlete Chou Ting-yuan. Under her father's persistence and guidance, she began getting involved in sports during her first year at Taichung Municipal Xiyuan High School's junior high division. However, she initially trained in Taekwondo. During the second semester of her first year, considering future development, she switched paths and began training in boxing.

Last year, as a newly promoted high school freshman, Chou Hsi-chun showed no rookie awkwardness and successfully claimed the first gold medal of her high school career. This year, she completed her 3rd consecutive championship at the National High School Athletic Games (including her third year of junior high) and will represent Taiwan in Indonesia in July to participate in the U19 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships.

In addition to her boxing career going increasingly well, she also crossed events to participate in Sanda this year. With her father's blessing, she similarly won the gold medal.

During an interview with the Central News Agency, Chou Hsi-chun laughed and said: 'Winning the boxing gold medal makes me very happy, of course, and it also shows that I am continuously improving. As for the Sanda gold medal, it can be considered not letting my dad down, and I hope it makes him happy.'

This year, New Taipei Municipal Mingder High School won a total of 21 gold medals at the National High School Athletic Games. Among them, boxing and Sanda alone swept 7 golds, 4 silvers, and 3 bronzes, truly acting as the school's medal factory. (Editor: Lung Po-an) 1150424
