(Central News Agency reporter Chung Jung-feng, Taipei, 24th) Wu Tien-Yu, Chief Operating Officer of major packaging and testing firm ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (ASEH), attended the "2025 Best Supplier Awards Ceremony" today, stating that with the climbing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC), global semiconductor output value has the opportunity to break through the $1 trillion USD mark this year. As technology evolves and system complexity increases, hardware technology has turned into a critical bottleneck affecting overall development.
He pointed out that future application scenarios will extend from cloud data centers to edge devices, among which emerging applications like drones and robots are expected to drive a new wave of growth momentum. Taiwan possesses a complete industrial supply chain and should accelerate cross-border cooperation, strengthen supply chain resilience, and lay out key technologies and system optimization early on to continually maintain a leading position in the global competitive landscape.
ASEH pointed out in a press release that it held the "2025 Best Supplier Awards Ceremony" in Taichung today, inviting over a hundred suppliers of packaging and testing equipment, raw materials, components, and processing to participate alongside its subsidiaries ASE, SPIL, and USI. Taiwanese companies such as AllRing Tech, Hon.Jin, Chien-Tse, and Grand Plastic Technology, as well as foreign companies including Advantest, Lam Research, 3M, Mitsui Chemicals, and Murata Manufacturing, were listed among the 2025 ASE supplier award winners.
Tang Rui-Wen, Chief Procurement Officer of ASEH, stated that the semiconductor supply chain is entering a new phase, with the industry gradually moving towards concentration, and technical standards continuously improving under the leadership of large leading manufacturers.
Tang Rui-Wen pointed out that ASEH has observed increased volatility in supply chain supply and demand, lengthened lead times, and a significantly accelerated pace of technological evolution. These changes stem from the continuous reallocation of capital, capacity, resources, and priorities within the supply chain. In response to strong market demand and the rapid development of new technologies, this brings immense opportunities to the semiconductor industry, but it is also accompanied by new risks and challenges.
